日本人講師KGさて、今日は久しぶりにMBAの英語をご紹介します。
第２回のテーマは、マーケティング。
このモジュール（科目）は珍しくカナダ人の講師が担当し、彼自身、電通と協業した経験もあるということで初日から一緒にランチを食べた思い出があります。それでは、最初に、彼がレクチャーで使用したスライドを数枚簡単にご紹介します。
Evolution（進化）
マーケティングとは、『顧客やパートナーとコラボし一緒に価値を創造・維持すること』に進化してきた
８０％のCEOが、自分のブランドが素晴らしい顧客体験を提供していると信じている一方、これに同意する顧客はたった８％しかいない。
購入の決断には常に二つの側面が働く：理性と感情
競争優位性のあるストラテジーが拠って立つべきこと；
自分のビジネスは何か？
顧客は誰か？
どんな価値を提供できるのか？
・・・・・・
・・・・・・
なんか昨日のことのように思い出されます。そして、このモジュールの成績判定は、個人エッセイ１本の一発勝負でした。意外と落とした人が多くて驚いた科目でもありました。私は、確かMerit。日本でいう「良」でした。

Background
The Contemporary Marketing unit will help you understand how marketing operates in today’s complicated, multi-tasking increasingly digital world.
Introduction
The Contemporary Marketing unit is part of the Southampton MBA programme. The MBA is a special master’s programme which aims at providing you with an integrated suite of skills that will enable you to make higher quality management decisions.
The aim of this assignment is to help you develop a cogent understanding of both marketing issues and techniques and the contemporary marketing environment. It gives you the opportunity to critically examine and de-construct current marketing thinking and, through applying it to an organisation, its markets and broader environment, develop alternative marketing approaches.
The Assessment
The assessment will be through a 2,000 word individual discursive essay. You must provide evidence to support your argument from recognised sources, properly referenced (see appendix 2 on Harvard referencing). The assignment is to be presented as a strictly individual paper.
The Assignment should not exceed 2000 words, excluding references and appendices

Critically evaluate whether the rise of data capture and analysis for determining marketing activities is consistent with concepts of privacy, social responsibility and sustainability.
